The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the CPMI was appointed a member of the Expert Council under the Russian software in the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, and took part in his first meeting.

Expert Council under the Russian software was created according to the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation №1236 dated November 16, 2015 and is a permanent body that will carry out an examination of the companies to include information about their software products into a single register of Russian programs for computers and databases.

The work of the Board is carried out in the framework of the regulations of the Federal Law №188 of 29 June 2015 which identified the procedure and conditions for the recognition software originating from the Russian Federation, as well as creating the appropriate registry.

The Council consists of 20 members representing the federal executive bodies, institutions of innovation development, as well as the Association of Russian software developers. The task of the Council is to examine software products and vote for their inclusion in the register of the Russian software.

According to the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation №1236 dated November 16, 2015. Customers are required to limit the purchase of software for state and municipal needs of software products included in the register of Russian software except in cases where it lacks the necessary software from the functional , technical and operational characteristics since January 1, 2016.

The register is created to promote the use of Russian software, to confirm its origin from the Russian Federation, as well as to provide the holder of the state support measures.

On January, 13 there was the first meeting of the Expert Council, and the participants discussed the procedure for its work, and also studied the first application received at the Registry's website.
