December 12, 2018 NII KPU experts took part in the presentation of the economic, industrial and investment potential of the Irkutsk Region, which was held at the RF CCI. The participants of the presentation got acquainted with the economic development of the region, the formation of the investment climate, promising investment projects of the region. Irkutsk region is one of the most developed regions of the Russian Federation.

The event was attended by the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin, the governor of the Irkutsk Region Sergey Levchenko, the head of the Communist Party faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov (the Irkutsk governor is a member of the Communist Party), the head of Khakassia Valentin Konovalov, representatives of the regional executive authorities, Russian and foreign entrepreneurs, diplomatic representatives corps, journalists.

In the foyer of the Congress Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, an exhibition exposition was presented, representing general information about the region, competitive advantages, industrial potential, measures to support investors, achievements and major projects, tourism and Lake Baikal.

The event was moderated by Vladimir Dmitriev, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

The Irkutsk region is Baikal, forests, developed industry and agriculture, a huge scientific potential, tourism potential, but above all the most important value - those who live there, work, said Sergei Katyrin, President of the RF CCI, in a brief welcoming speech. This, he noted, is one of the most interesting and significant regions of the country, and, of course, the presentation will arouse the interest of new investors who will definitely find new partners in the Irkutsk region.

According to Gennady Zyuganov, one of the foundations of the progressive development of the region is an excellent management team of the governor.

Literally in the coming days, Governor Sergey Levchenko said, a five-year regional development strategy will be approved. The Irkutsk Five-Year Plan, as it came to be called, sets clear, well-thought-out goals and outlines specific steps to achieve them, he said. We know how much and where to get money for each project, so this is a serious work plan with specific dates for the implementation of all its stages. The Irkutsk region, in particular, the governor stressed, has a powerful industrial base for development, its products are sold in one hundred countries of the world, and foreign trade has seriously exceeded $ 8 billion.

In his welcoming speech, the President of the Union of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Eastern Siberia, Alexey Sobol, reminded the old truth: it’s not the resources that it possesses, but how it manages them that make a great nation. In the Irkutsk region today this is exactly how they try to manage, and the region has not offended the region with its vast resources.

On an area of 775 thousand square meters. kilometers, where 2.4 million people live, 31 percent of all gold reserves explored in Russia, the region ranks first in the extraction and processing of wood (35 million cubic meters a year are harvested), here 8 percent of all Russian gas reserves, 7 percent - coal . This was told by the Minister of Economic Development of the Irkutsk Region Yevgeny Orachevsky. His presentation of the economic and investment potential of the region aroused keen interest.

A presentation on the creation of a gas chemical complex in the Ust-Kutsky district of the Irkutsk region was made by Sergey Donskoy, a member of the Board of Directors of INK-Capital JSC.
