On March 22, representatives of the NII KPU took part in the first All-Russian Gas-Engine Forum in St. Petersburg. The event was timed to the 20th anniversary of the founding of the National Gas-Engineing Association and became a consolidating meeting of participants in the gas-engine fuel market in Russia and abroad.

Forum speakers were V.A. Golubev (Deputy Chairman of the Board of Gazprom, PJSC), A.N. Morozov (Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia), M.M. Tikhonov (Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region), O.V. Abramov (Deputy Governor of the Belgorod Region), M.V. Likhachev (General Director of Gazprom Gas Motor Fuel LLC), etc.

During the discussion, the participants discussed the prospects for the development in Russia of the production and marketing infrastructure of gas-engine fuel, and analyzed the implemented projects in detail. The achievements in the production of bit fuel and gas engines, as well as specialized equipment, were separately noted. Similar projects are already being implemented in Russia under special investment contracts by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and Hyundai Motor.

The president of NGV Intaly, M. Baroni, in her report highlighted the need to ensure maximum comfort for those who switch to gas fuel, as well as openness of information both on gas stations in the region and on servicing such equipment. “This is the key to the success of the project, when the end user is clear and there are no differences in operation with gasoline or diesel equipment,” M. Baroni concluded in her speech.

Currently, the NIIKPU project portfolio has a number of completed projects related to prospective LNG topics. On the basis of the accumulated experience, active development of new initiatives for the development of low and medium tonnage production and marketing of LNG is being conducted in accordance with the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation V.V. By Putin, to increase the share of LNG in the energy balance of the regions, in particular, the Arctic territories and the Far East.
